The Joinery: A Story of Craft & Light

Nestled on the southern edge of Logan Square in a restored woodworking shop, The Joinery blends industrial charm with natural warmth. Its centerpiece, a soaring 800 sq ft skylight, floods the 2,400 sq ft main gathering space with gorgeous light, offering a dreamy canvas that needs minimal décor for any style of event. Perfect for weddings, corporate, or large social gatherings! We knew it was the perfect location for Jocelyn and Jack to tie the knot.

Layout & Capacity

Main Gathering Space: 2,400 sq ft under a giant skylight! The space is ideal for ceremonies, receptions, and of course open dancing.
Guest Capacity: Comfortably seats about 160 guests for dinner or up to 180 for cocktail-style events. J&J created a beautiful u-shaped layout with their tables for a big open dance floor in the middle.
Flexible Flow: The main floor includes a separate cocktail/bar area, outdoor lounge, and then there is a private upstairs speakeasy for intimate moments or pre-ceremony photos. Here at BW Studio, we love it when couples open the Speakeasy for late night snacks and a speciality cocktail!

Indoor–Outdoor Experience

Outdoor Patio: Outside, there is a lovely covered lounge with string lights that creates a relaxed transition space between ceremony and dinner. Or a perfect spot for late night chats.
Seamless Transition: Indoor/outdoor flow ensures guests can move freely through the Joinery, rain or shine!

The Joinery provides substantial in-house inventory, eliminating the need for a ton of vendor rentals… which the team here at BW Studio absolutely loves. You can expect to see items like:

21 recycled-farm tables, 170 steel chairs
12 highboy tables, barstools, sweetheart table, easels
Photogenic elements like a custom donut wall, copper arch, card box, and on-theme table numbers.

Overnight Stay: There’s even a two-bedroom/1.5 bath apartment on-site for the couple, plus “Millhouse” house next door that sleeps up to 10. Millhouse is ideal for wedding parties, VIP’s, and out-of-town guests.
